Jugando is a drop off full immersion class. This Spanish program offers children the opportunity to continue learning Spanish as they grow. In this program children learn Spanish through picture books, storytelling, songs, games, hands-on activities, puppets and dramatic play. In addition, we use musical instruments, props, and visual aids to create a rich learning environment. In this program we promote learning through music, play and movement.

This program consists of an ongoing learning process and practice that supports previously introduced vocabulary and concepts. Children learn in a natural way, by playing which enables them to use Spanish in a natural and fun way. First, children learn some words and how to use these words in context. Then more vocabulary is introduced; as the previous vocabulary is still being reviewed. Once students become familiar with the new vocabulary, they start using short sentences in class.

Children receive regular reinforcement of previously presented vocabulary, songs, and games, as they are concurrently taught a new topic each class. This way the class builds upon familiar activities so children know the routine of the class.

We have an interactive approach in class, as we encourage children to use all their senses when learning Spanish. In this program we include singing, acting, drawing, talking, dancing, and expressing using their faces, voices, and movement to follow the songs and games in class. Active participation is encouraged in class according to each student’s level, so children can apply what they learn in class and at home.
